Elämäni Kodit Ikuri – Community and Sustainable Living in Tampere

Arco has won the design competition for the development of special-needs housing in Ikuri, Tampere, in collaboration with Toivo Group Oy and Elämäni Kodit 40 Oy.

The project involves the construction of a versatile residential building that will provide its residents with community-oriented living and an environment where modern and sustainable solutions support well-being.

The building will feature a unit for community-based living for people with developmental disabilities, promoting independence and community integration. The building’s rooftop will house a spa area, community rooms, and the surrounding courtyard will offer various leisure facilities, including exercise and play equipment, as well as a sheltered barbecue hut.

The project incorporates environmentally friendly building materials and energy solutions, such as geothermal heating and solar panels, supporting sustainable development and providing an ecological foundation for the building. Elämäni Kodit Ikuri offers its residents not only a comfortable living environment but also the means to live a fulfilling and happy life supported by the community.

The project emphasizes social integration, community, and sustainable development – key elements that were also at the core of the competition. The win was achieved through close collaboration with the client, and Arco is proud to be part of this significant project.
