We designed the renovation and expansion of the old brewery built in the 1890s, a historically significant building (protection class SR-3) that also used to serve as a shoe factory.
The old part at the corner of Itäinen Pitkäkatu and Lemminkäisenkatu accommodates the shared library of the Faculty of Medicine and the School of History, Culture and Art Studies as well as research and customer service facilities of the Faculty of Medicine. The three-storey extension with a copper and glass facade comprises lecture halls, a cafeteria, and workspaces for researchers.
