Built in the early 1950´s, the office building was converted and renovated into a high-end hotel for the Lapland Hotels chain. The hotel opened in January 2019.
During the renovation, the interior of the old building was demolished down to the concrete surface, so that the hotel could accommodate all the necessary facilities, including new lift shafts and technical building services. The top eight floors of the hotel were designed to house 182 hotel rooms as well as floor service facilities and other utility rooms.
More than 100 rooms have a sauna in the bathroom. The restaurant, bar, lobby and reception areas as well as the kitchen were designed on the hotel’s street level. The basement floors provide meeting, gym and toilet facilities for the guests, as well as various technical, utility and storage facilities for the hotel.
