The Siilitie metro station is one of the above-ground stations of the Helsinki Metro.
Siilitie serves the Länsi-Herttoniemi area. The station is located at the junction of Siilitie and Itäväylä. Siilitie is one of the first stations of the Helsinki Metro, opened in 1982. The original designers of the metro station are Jaakko Ylinen and Jarmo Maunula.
At the end of 2011, it was decided to renovate the station and we were responsible for the design. During the renovation, the ticket hall, platform shelter and platform were renovated and the stone steps and escalators were replaced with new ones. In addition to automation work, the station was also improved in terms of comfort, safety and sustainability.
The renovation was completed in June 2013 and the work was also awarded the 2013 Steel Structure of the Year Award.
