The project includes the repair and alteration of the old part of the Helsinki Mother and Child Home, built in the 1940s, the partial restoration of the façade, and the construction of a new extension to the building.
The extension has been adapted to the architecture of the original building so that the new and the old form a coherent whole. The original wooden balcony railings were restored and the same theme was used for the extension.
The facilities were upgraded to provide rehabilitation and housing services for families with babies in need of strong support, as well as outpatient and outreach services for the Mother and Child Home. The interior design has created a calm, domestic and safe atmosphere.
