Saga

Saga

Saga combines different materials and structural details boldly with traditional brick construction. This gives the 5–8 storey building a distinctive character, but at the same time it is harmonious and fits in well with its surroundings. The most memorable part of the building is the timber-clad attic floor with its event and sauna facilities combined with a rooftop terrace. The building’s large and impressive atrium is also impressive. The façade material is red brick and light plaster.

The flats have been designed with a particular focus on the housing needs of older people. All flats are accessible and tailored for the elderly. Each flat has a glazed balcony with a stunning view of the Munkinpuisto park. The materials have been chosen with durability, comfort and safety in mind.

The Kestävä Kivitalo group awarded the Saga residential care home in Munkkiniemi, Helsinki, with an honourable mention in recognition of its high quality and innovative design that utilises the different aspects of on-site construction.
