Jarkko Nieminen Areena is a sports hall designed for tennis, but it also offers facilities for badminton, indoor and outdoor padel, table tennis and fitness.
Named after Jarkko Nieminen, Finland’s greatest tennis player of all time, the tennis centre is located in Impivaara, four kilometres from the centre of Turku. We have been involved in the project since the town plan alteration and project planning phase and are responsible for the principal and architectural design of the arena extension.
The extension includes a café, a shop, a VIP area with meeting and sauna facilities, a gym, group exercise and multi-purpose facilities, two indoor tennis courts with grandstands, and three indoor padel courts. From the new balcony, you can follow matches on the four tennis courts in the courtyard. The extended parking area has 125 parking spaces, including charging stations for electric cars.
There are 11 tennis courts, 15 badminton courts and 3 padel courts.
