The five-storey Tuultenristi office building in Tapiola was built next to the shopping centre Ainoa.
The Tuultenristi block on the western edge of Tapiola centre consists of three residential blocks and an office building. Completed in spring 2023, the Koy Tapiola Tuultenristi office building is located in the most prominent place in the area, on the western edge of the deck crossing Merituulentie at Merituulentori and, despite its compact size, forms a visible landmark when entering Tapiola from the west.
The anchor tenant of the building is Uudenmaan Osuuspankki, whose offices are located on the first floor at Merituulentori and on the second floor. The first floor also houses three law offices, HOK Elanto’s funeral and legal services, and space for a terrace restaurant with a view of Tapiola’s cultural landscape. On the third floor you will find the local Martha Association’s teaching kitchen and studio facilities, as well as a roof terrace that serves as a garden for useful plants. The fourth and fifth floors are flexible office premises.
The office building is divided into two parts with different materials and façade openings. The two lower floors of the building form a sturdy base with white triangular ceramic plank as the main material. Three smaller and visually lighter floors rise from them, forming the building a lace-like crown. The visible façade of the top three floors consists of a vertical façade cladding of perforated metal, which acts as a sunscreen.
