Medisiina D will be a synergistic building for medical education, research, and diagnostics.
Our office has been responsible for the design of the Medisiina D building. Suomen Yliopistokiinteistöt Oy commissioned new teaching, research, and diagnostic facilities for the Hospital District of Southwest Finland (VSSHP), the University of Turku, and Turku University of Applied Sciences. Medisiina D will thus become a synergy house for medical education, research, and diagnostics, with 1,400 daily students and 600 staff.
The interior design of the building follows the architectural design and spatial planning concept, which is based on the advancement of medicine from history to the present and to the future. The concept spatially highlights the functions of the organisations operating in the building while creating a holistic identity for the whole.
