Mylly, located in Raisio, along the Turku bypass, is the largest shopping centre in Southwest Finland.
Completed in 2001 and later extended, the shopping centre has around 150 speciality shops, a grocery store and a six-screen cinema, Finnkino LUXE.
We were responsible for the principal, architectural and interior design of the shopping centre, both for the original extension and the extensions in 2010, 2016 and 2022.
Interior design
The theme of the interior of the largest shopping centre in Southwest Finland is rooted in nature. Completed in 2001 and later extended, the shopping centre has around 150 speciality shops, a grocery store and a six-screen cinema, Finnkino LUXE.
The corridors of the original building are in the colours of summer and autumn – bright yellow, glowing ochre and deep beige. The design form favours vivid, organic lines in the walkway shapes and floors’ tiling patterns, for example. On the extension side, customers are greeted by the atmosphere of a crisp winter, enlivened by the green shades of spring. To counterbalance the cool metal and glass elements, the space is filled with pleasant wood and textile surfaces and indoor plants. The key words at Mylly are authenticity and comfort.
