ParkCity is designed to alleviate the parking problem in the Kupittaa campus area of Turku. ParkCity, which opened at the beginning of this year, is the largest parking facility in the city.
There are 990 parking spaces on 10 floors. The building is located at the junction of the future public transport trunk line, Kupittaa railway station and the envisaged Kupittaa Deck building project.
The façades of the building are made of vertical aluminium louvres of different colours. They give it a recognisable and distinctive character that does not look out of place in its surroundings. On the ground floor, by the street façade, there are parking spaces for bicycles. Behind the glass-walled bicycle park is a mural that runs nearly the entire length of the façade, facing the street. The mural was created by artist Jussi TwoSeven.
