Previously owned by Suomen Trikoo, the old red brick power plant in Pyynikki, Tampere, was renovated in 2012–2015 into unique loft apartments.

The location of the one-of-a-kind factory complex is unrivalled: to the north of the block is the magnificent Pyynikki Esker Nature Reserve, while to the south is the beautiful Lake Pyhäjärvi.

Pyynikin Trikoo began manufacturing clothes in the 1880s. The power plant buildings were built in three instalments in the 1950s and 1960s. Most of the buildings were designed by Veikko Kallio (1897–1978) and the latest part was designed by master builder Erkki Ojanen.

Unique loft apartments

The spacious flats have the feel of an old factory building. The red brick wall is exposed here and there and the high ceiling height of the factory buildings has allowed the construction of mezzanines in the flats. In addition, some flats have balconies overlooking the surrounding scenic landscape.
