The city centre of Turku will expand Kirstinpuisto planning zone in the direction of Iso-Heikkilä.
A versatile and pleasant district is planned to be added to the Linnakaupunki area, where an attractive coastal neighbourhood will be created in the coming years, within cycling and walking distance from the city centre.
The design focuses on sustainable solutions and high-quality public spaces and parks.Particular attention is paid to storm water treatment. Kirstinpuisto is a pilot project for the international EU-funded iWater project, which seeks new solutions for rainwater and floodwater management and investigates the use of the so-called green area factor in Turku.
