The flats in the distinctive Kivistö residential quarter were completed in three phases, the last in August 2020. The vibrant Kivistö residential quarter consists of three separate buildings, seven housing companies and 327 homes.
Kivistö is located in a well-connected area next to a railway station. The starting point for the design process was to create a large quarter with a welcoming and varied street scene that fits in with the architectural character of the Kivistö area.
On the side of the Topaasiaukio square, the quarter is bordered by a curved 12-storey building – one quarter of the Kivistö Colosseum surrounding the square. On the other sides of the quarter, buildings rise to 5 and 6 storeys. In addition to the flats and the parking facility under the courtyard, restaurants and cafés face the Topaasiaukio square. At the edge of the square is Samuli Alonen’s environmental artwork.
