OUR VISION FOR A DESIGN COMPETITION IS BASED ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF A DIVERSE, URBAN AND GREEN CAMPUS.
PRODUCED IN COLLABORATION WITH SCHAUMAN & NORDGREN ARCHITECTS AND MASU PLANNING.
The aim was to create a vibrant community where living, learning, working and recreation can be flexibly integrated. The new 85,000 m2 urban development will mix housing, small-scale office and workshop space, retail and a day-care centre, linking the existing campus to its surroundings while creating an interesting and attractive modern campus environment.
The design competition sought ideas for the development and diversification of land use, activities and the urban landscape of Kumpulanmäki. The aim is to integrate Kumpulanmäki more strongly into the city centre, in the context of the evolving and complementary urban fabric of the surrounding area.
