The Pihlajaniemi quarters will be the first to be constructed in the new and distinctive 5,000-resident neighbourhood in Turku.
The premise for the design for Pihlajaniemi’s starting block 1 has been to create a peaceful closed block structure that integrates seamlessly with the wider landscape, to be complemented by a rich courtyard dedicated to the residents. The courtyard is located on a two-level deck structure, with a ground-supported central section in the middle. The lush core of the yard is the garden structured by the large tree canopies, with a play and sitting area underneath.
