The two-storey day-care centre is located in the Niemenranta area in Tampere.
The building represents modern wooden architecture that supports the urban feel of the Niemenranta area. The façade, which is rather closed to the street, opens into the internal courtyard, where a versatile and lively playground and children’s entrances are located.
The building’s curved façade creates an element of surprise to the long building mass and an official look.
Spacious, varied and bright interiors have been the starting point for the design of the day-care centre. All cells are designed in the same size, which allows the facilities to be used by different age groups. Vast views and plenty of natural light make the premises safe and lively.
The high-ceilinged halls and dining areas create a natural hub for gathering to practice daily routines and exercise. The space is also an ideal venue for events. High windows illuminate the elegant space and a kitchenette in the dining area serves not only day-care groups but also evening users, if necessary.
